“Yikes! I just ate whaaaat?” How to deal with post gym cravings…

IMG_20140430_144228

My pre- gym routine consists of these three steps:

  1. Change into gym clothes and sneaks
  2. Fill up water bottle
  3. Steam brussel sprouts

Wondering about that last one? Yep. Not a typo. I never leave home without having my post gym snack ready. If I’ve had a tough workout at the gym, I am completely ravenous when I get home and sometimes feel like eating everything in sight.  So I say why not make the food that’s in sight healthier?

Here are my top five all time favorite pre- gym planned, post- gym snacks.

  1. “The Big Salad”- There is literally nothing like coming home and diving right in to a colorful already prepared salad.
  2. Wasa® crackers with almond butter- Ok not quite a cookie but still a pretty tasty treat!
  3. Plain yogurt and berries- I freeze berries when in season into servings and take out of the freezer before the gym. After the gym I blend the defrosted berries with the yogurt.
  4. Tehina and carrots- I cut up the carrots pre- gym and then dunk them in tehina post- gym.
  5. Brussel sprouts- I steam these before I leave for the gym and stick them in the fridge. I can snack on these anytime anywhere!

What are your favorite post gym snacks?
